It made me start thinking about a lot of things. Most thoughts were about the future and whether I would end up permanently disabled. Late Friday afternoon, I was surprised to learn that my re-evaluation appointment that was scheduled for June has been moved up to May 4th!!! I am so excited and in awe of how God continues to move. I can only remember two times that that I had front row seats. The first time was with my best friend when we got front row seats to the MercyMe concert in Louisville and the second time I was able to get a front row seat to see Casting Crowns at the NKU arena. When I went online, there was only one seat so, I went to the concert by myself. The people that sat by me were super friendly and we had a very nice evening worshiping our Savior. There is something about having a front row seat at a concert. You are so close to the artists and there is no one in front of you to distract your view. I love roller coasters and amusement parks. You can sit in the front row if you are willing to wait a little longer to ride. Having a front row seat on a roller coaster is a big adrenaline rush for me. When you are at the top of the first hill and that front car is hanging on the down side of the hill and the rest of the train is still being pushed up hill it creates anticipation and excitement that you can't experience on any other part of the train. Once you go down the hill, the weight of the other cars pushes you faster and faster. I was not excited about taking the drug. I have not been willing to take any drug for MS because of long term side effects and the fact that no disease modifying drug on the market will change the outcome of disability. Now, I have prayed many times about taking a drug and I have had friends and family that wanted me to take something for the disease but, as I sought the Lord, His answer was always a NO. My one year was October 29th. Yesterday I reached another milestone. On December 10, 2020 I got the OK to go home with some precautions. It was a very big deal to me. Dr. Patel was responsible for looking at my genetic samples from my bone marrow. Once they found that I had a mutation that puts me at risk for cardiovascular problems she suggested a Cardio work up. I am actually excited to get this completed. So I will return in June for this work up and to get my second set of vaccinations. Today I am heading home after a successful reset of my immune system to halt MS at Cleveland Clinic. I am beyond grateful. But none of this would have been possible if I had to do it alone. You may have seen this lady in this picture. This is my mom. Not only has she been up here on numerous 1-2 day visits but once I was approved for the Transplant she spent 20 days with me in Cleveland while they collected my stem cells then 4 days during my pre admission, and another 30 days once I was discharged. Spent time cooking meals, going back and forth to the hospital, and keeping the hotel room sanitized. This all took her away from her husband, her other children, and her grandkids. I have a good mom.
