A Front Row Seat

Have you ever wanted a front row seat to a concert or event and it seemed almost impossible to get tickets?

I can only remember two times that that I had front row seats. The first time was with my best friend when we got front row seats to the MercyMe concert in Louisville and the second time I was able to get a front row seat to see Casting Crowns at the NKU arena. When I went online, there was only one seat so, I went to the concert by myself. The people that sat by me were super friendly and we had a very nice evening worshiping our Savior. There is something about having a front row seat at a concert. You are so close to the artists and there is no one in front of you to distract your view. For me, this seat creates a connection to the artist and it allows me to be focused on the music and experience.

There are other times that I have had front row seats.

I love roller coasters and amusement parks. You can sit in the front row if you are willing to wait a little longer to ride. Having a front row seat on a roller coaster is a big adrenaline rush for me. When you are at the top of the first hill and that front car is hanging on the down side of the hill and the rest of the train is still being pushed up hill it creates anticipation and excitement that you can't experience on any other part of the train. Once you go down the hill, the weight of the other cars pushes you faster and faster. You can only experience this sensation if you are sitting in the front car.

I do not know what impossible, desperate situation you are facing today. Maybe it is something you have been facing for a long time. When you give up and give this situation to God, you will have a front row seat to His power. I can testify that this is true. When I gave up my 'impossible' to God, He has shown up over and over. I have been given a front row seat to God's power. He is not done. He continues to show up as I sit in the front row, waiting to see what He is going to do next. 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. God cares about the 'impossible' that you are facing. My relationship with Christ gives me undeserved favor with God. That is God's grace. I have realized that even though I have cried out to God on multiple occasions after my diagnosis, I have done some things in my own power and those things have not worked out. But when I fully surrendered this impossible situation over to Him, He is right there with me and showing His power daily.

Getting a front row seat at a concert can be very difficult or almost impossible. Getting the front row seat on a roller coaster is possible but, you may have to wait much longer than other people that are on the ride. This week I was encouraged by a text that I received from the church I attend. It said, "When you are facing something you just feel too weak to endure, GOOD. Those are the moments when HE is strong. We never know the power of God until we desperately need the power of God. So, if you desperately need Him today, then you have a front row seat to actually experiencing God's power like never before."

When we admit that we can't and that we don't have the answer, that is when God can take over. Maybe God has shown up when you didn't realize it? I have reflected on events that happened before and after my diagnosis and God has shown me that He has always been there. As I have said before, I do not know what the future will bring or what God is going to do but, I am willing to give it all to Him. My expectation is that God will be glorified with my life. With this front row seat, I get to see how He is working, first hand. I get to experience excitement and anticipation of what is to come. I have a church family and many brothers and sisters in Christ that are behind me pushing me through the twisted and turns, the ups and downs. As He is working, there have been other people placed in my path that I am able to encourage and pray for their 'impossible'. He is using my weaknesses to make His power perfect. I can only have this front row seat if I am willing to focus on Him. This can be done through prayer, reading my Bible, or even pondering on what He has done.

I want to encourage you to admit to Jesus that you need Him. Seek Him daily and expect Him to show up. When you are discouraged, open your Bible and remind yourself of God's truths and promises. If you don't have a relationship with Jesus, make today the day to start that relationship. I pray that God will continue to work through your 'impossible'.

Here is a video to remind you that He is our Way maker, Miracle worker, Promise keeper, Light in the darkness. Have a great week my friends and Rooftop Prayer Warriors!
